Dear Church, as we closely follow the news in Arizona, we have developed the following plan to begin returning to church!
This coming Sunday, May 17th, will be the same as the past few weeks. Livestream Bible Study with Steve at 9:30, and Worship at 10:30.
On the following Sunday, May 24th, we will invite everyone to view Steve’s Bible Study livestream at home at the regular time of 9:15 to 10:00. After the Bible Study that morning at 10:00, we would like to invite those who are (1) not sick, and (2) not in high risk categories, and would like to drive to church for the worship service to do so. We will have a doorperson at each of three entrances to the auditorium to welcome and open/close the door for you (front main entrance, north side entrance, west entrance toward Glendale Adult Center). This will allow for us to social distance as much as possible, even where we park our cars.
At each entry we will have a table with (1) hand sanitizer (2) face mask, if you wish to wear one, and (3) place for your tithes/offerings. We ask that you find your seat in the chairs that will allow for social distancing of at least 6 feet in all directions.
Our “welcome” time will be waving and hollering at one another. We ask that you not approach someone closer than six feet without getting their permission. They may have more concern for this virus than you and you will want to respect that. No offering plates will be passed but visitor’s cards can be placed on the same 3 tables by the doors when you leave. We will release by sections so as to maintain social distancing and not congregating at the doors. Feel free to sanitize your hands on the way out of the church too. Anyone in need of prayer, or making a spiritual decision, or to talk to a staff member will need to wait for the others to leave and we will visit with you gladly.
At this point, there will be no choir singing but only the praise team. More information will follow in the future regarding Phase Two when we are able to safely facilitate small group Bible Studies. We will observe the Lord’s Supper on May 31st, but it will be different than usual.
